Career Day

Career Day is offered by Palmyra-Macedon Middle School in order to provide exposure to a variety of career- and college-related opportunities. The middle school counselors work collaboratively with administrators and teachers to set up exciting and educational experiences for all students.  Activities for Career Day are different for each grade level.

8th Grade

Eighth graders will visit one of several local colleges/universities. During their visit they will receive a tour of campus, information session, and lunch in one of the college’s dining halls.

In past years, students have also toured the campuses of Rochester Institute of Technology, Ithaca College, Keuka College, Wells College, Hobart & William Smith College, and Monroe Community College.

7th Grade

Seventh grade students will tour the Wayne Technical and Career Center in Williamson.  During the afternoon, students will participate in an activity provided by our foreign language teachers, as well as a presentation by our keynote speaker. 

6th Grade

Sixth grade students will spend the morning meeting with a variety of professionals in two informational, hands-on sessions. Our students will learn about different careers and make real life connections in an effort to help them become college and career ready. In the afternoon, students will sit in on a presentation by our keynote speaker.
